A presentation of the book Word as a Diplomat’s Tool by Professor Borys Humeniuk took place at the Junior Diplomatic Academy of the Kyiv Palace of Children and Youth.
Professor Humeniuk is a Doctor of History, Head of the Department of International Relations History and Humanities at the Ukrainian State University named after M. P. Drahomanov, a member of the Union of Slavic Writers, former Ambassador of Ukraine to Cyprus, and former Rector of the Diplomatic Academy of Ukraine under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

During the meeting, Borys Humeniuk shared his extensive diplomatic experience, reflected in his books, and emphasized the power of words as a key instrument of influence in today’s world. He also drew a meaningful connection between the Junior Diplomatic Academy’s slogan, “Your path to mastering the power of words,” and the title of his book, “Word as a Diplomat’s Tool.”

This meeting was especially valuable for the students, as it gave them firsthand insight into the practical realities of diplomatic work. Borys Humeniuk shared compelling examples of how the effective use of language can influence outcomes, achieve strategic objectives, and shape international relations.

A special part of the event was a masterclass led by Mr. Humeniuk’s wife, who offered participants a short course titled “Etiquette for Diplomats’ Spouses.” During the session, participants explored the role of etiquette in the diplomatic community and received practical guidance on presenting themselves in a way that aligns with the high standards of international communication.

At the conclusion of the meeting, students of the Junior Diplomatic Academy prepared a care package for Ukrainian defenders, sending it to the front with heartfelt words of gratitude.
According to Rita Kosiak, Head of the Junior Diplomatic Academy, “For young diplomats, this meeting became a powerful source of inspiration and practical insight. It helped them understand not only how professional diplomatic relationships are built, but also that communication and the ability to interact effectively are essential skills that can shape the future.”
