At the Kyiv Palace of Children and Youth, students of the Junior Diplomatic Academy attended a lecture session titled “Working with the Media as a Public Servant.” The session was led by international journalist and Pryamyi TV presenter Nataliia Bochan.
During the lecture, she shared her extensive experience in the media industry and explained the key principles of effective communication between public institutions and journalists. She highlighted the importance of a professional approach to information sharing and provided practical examples of common mistakes to avoid.

Students learned how to craft effective media messages, adapt content for different media formats, and respond to journalists’ inquiries. They also received practical tips on how to attract attention to their work and engage audiences, manage interview anxiety, follow business dress standards, and use appropriate language in professional communication.

Participants also had the opportunity to step into both roles, as journalists and as an ambassador being interviewed. This hands on experience allowed them to understand both sides of communication and gain valuable insight into preparing for public speaking and working with the media.

Project Lead Rita Kosiak noted that the Junior Diplomatic Academy continues to create educational opportunities that help young people develop the skills needed to represent Ukraine positively on the global stage.
