Students of the Junior Diplomatic Academy visited the Media Center of the General Directorate for Servicing Foreign Missions (HDIP). The visit provided a unique opportunity for aspiring diplomats to explore the nuances of communication in international relations and understand the pivotal role of modern media.

During the session, participants learned about providing information support for diplomatic events, engaging with international media, organizing press conferences, and managing communications during official visits.

Hanna Makarenko, Public Relations and Press Specialist at the Media Center of the General Directorate for Servicing Foreign Missions (HDIP), introduced students to the Media Center’s work and the events organized by the General Directorate. She also shared insights on effective communication during wartime and highlighted the importance of shaping a professional image through social media.

The Media Center served as an inspiring intellectual and cultural hub for the students. They learned that the center hosts press conferences, presentations, lectures, creative meetings, seminars, briefings, and more for members of the diplomatic corps.

Hanna highlighted the main functions of the HDIP, including ensuring the smooth operation of foreign diplomatic missions in Ukraine, overseeing construction, reconstruction, and maintenance of facilities, and supporting the preservation of national culture and the protection of cultural and historical heritage.

Rita Kosiak, Head of the Junior Diplomatic Academy, highlighted that understanding how media function in diplomacy is crucial for training future specialists. Meetings like this allow students not only to learn theory but also to witness firsthand the role of media in international diplomatic practice.

At the conclusion of the visit, students of the Junior Diplomatic Academy received thoughtful gifts from Inna Valeriivna Khomenska, Director of the Media Center, to expand their intellectual resources and the KPDU library.

The Junior Diplomatic Academy warmly thanks the HDIP for their openness and for sharing their valuable expertise with the next generation of young diplomats.
