Students of the Junior Diplomatic Academy explored the world of national symbols during a session with Anna Oleksandrivna Bilokin, Head of the International Cooperation Department at the Kyiv City State Administration. The lecture "Flags of the World" offered a fascinating journey through the history, meanings of colors, and symbols that countries use to express their identity.

The speaker discussed the factors that determine a flag’s colors and design, how historical events have shaped national symbols, and why some countries have altered their flags. She highlighted unique examples where the symbolism held hidden or layered meanings.

Following the lecture, students of the Academy engaged in an interactive activity. They played the game “Which Country Does This Flag Belong To?” showcasing their impressive knowledge. The lively competition added excitement to the session, and the most enthusiastic participants were rewarded with gifts.

Rita Kosiak, Head of the Junior Diplomatic Academy, emphasized that these lectures help students expand their knowledge while honing analytical thinking skills, essential for future diplomats. A strong understanding of national symbols supports effective intercultural communication, a crucial element in international relations.
