The new academic year of the Junior Diplomatic Academy began in Scandinavia

September 5, 2025

The students of the Junior Diplomatic Academy at the Kyiv Palace of Children and Youth kicked off the new school year with excitement.

Through the Kyiv–Stockholm twin cities initiative, and with support from Kyiv’s Department of International Relations and the Department of Education and Science, our young diplomats had the chance to explore the welcoming country of Sweden.

Currently, the young diplomats are exploring the Ruslagen region, a land steeped in the legacy of brave Vikings.

The project’s program is packed with engaging activities, including outdoor games and quests, creative workshops, forest and lakeside hikes at Lake Vestra Inhyon, visits to historical landmarks, and much more.

The children are not only enjoying the fantastic nature of Scandinavia, but also discovering new talents in themselves and making friends!

“While engaging with Swedish peers and project organizers, Ukrainian children open up about the traumatic experiences they have endured and continue to face due to Russia’s full-scale invasion. Sharing the truth about the war with the wider world has become a vital mission for these young ambassadors abroad,” said Rita Kosyak, Deputy Director of KPDU.
