Over three days, Junior Diplomatic Academy students from the Kyiv Palace of Children and Youth participated in the international “Leader in Me” training program, built on Stephen Covey’s renowned framework, “The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People.”

During their training camp in Zakarpattia, participants explored the core principles of personal leadership while actively developing skills in self-management, teamwork, and strategic thinking.

Working alongside trainers, participants explored each of the seven habits through hands-on practice. This approach helped them gain deeper self-awareness and unlock their leadership potential, guided by key principles such as: being proactive, starting with a clear vision of the outcome, prioritizing what matters most, thinking in terms of win-win, seeking understanding before being understood, building synergy, and continuously improving themselves.
The program enabled young diplomats to clarify their goals, take ownership of their decisions, and develop the ability to create positive impact in their environment.

Every participant completed a quest and was awarded a certificate upon finishing the training.
“Leadership starts with me!” — with this mindset, the students concluded the program, ready to put their new skills into practice in learning, communication, and community engagement.
As Rita Kosyak, head of the Kyiv Palace of Children and Youth project office, noted: “The Junior Diplomatic Academy continues to nurture a new generation of leaders — individuals who act with responsibility, think strategically, and strive to make the world a better place!”
