Unity through kindness: Junior Diplomatic Academy at the Christmas diplomatic charity fair CHARITY FAIR 2025

November 29, 2025

  1. Junior Diplomatic Academy students took part in the annual Christmas diplomatic charity fair CHARITY FAIR 2025. For them, it was more than just an event — it was a real gateway into the world of diplomacy, filled with meaningful conversations, festive spirit, and new connections.

Traditionally held under the motto “Caring hearts united for Ukraine,” the fair brings together diplomats, artists, civic leaders, and guests from across the city. This year, the students experienced something especially meaningful — recognition. The diplomatic community is increasingly welcoming and acknowledging them. One of the highlights was meeting Ambassador of Croatia, Anica Djamić, who warmly greeted the students after recognizing them from their previous visit to the embassy. Moments like these — when formal barriers disappear and genuine human connection takes over — reveal a side of diplomacy that cannot be taught in books.

  1. A particularly warm and memorable moment was the meeting with Ukraine’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Andrii Sybiha. He immediately recognized the Junior Diplomatic Academy students from a previous event, took time to engage with them, answered their questions, and even invited them to visit the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

For the students, moments like this are incredibly motivating — when their effort, dedication, and sincerity are acknowledged at such a high level.

The event also became a valuable opportunity to build new connections. Junior Diplomatic Academy students interacted with ambassadors from Belgium, Argentina, Mexico, Brazil, and China, engaged in meaningful conversations with representatives of various institutions, and gained insight into different perspectives and cultural contexts. They came to understand that every conversation is a small diplomatic bridge — one they are learning to build step by step.

CHARITY FAIR 2025 united people committed to making a difference, with all proceeds going toward bringing a New Year’s miracle to those who need it most — from the “Warm the Defender” initiative to supporting internally displaced children, people with disabilities, the elderly, and shelter animals. Every ticket, every visit, and every purchase contributed to a larger act of kindness. The Junior Diplomatic Academy’s gingerbread treats and their Christmas angel-making workshop also played a meaningful role in supporting the fair’s charitable mission.

“For the Junior Diplomatic Academy, this is more than just taking part in an event — it is part of a journey where students grow not only into future diplomats, but into people who can empathize, create, support, and inspire. Their presence, openness, and ability to communicate make the Academy increasingly recognized within diplomatic circles, and this fair was another clear example of that. When people come together to do good, even the smallest contribution becomes part of something powerful. And when that good is done by children — its impact multiplies,” concluded Rita Kosyak, head of the Kyiv Palace of Children and Youth project office.
