On March 16, an important event was held at the National Museum of Military History of Ukraine — the official cancellation ceremony of a postage stamp honoring the 43rd Separate Artillery Brigade named after Hetman Taras Triasylo.
The design of the stamp is rooted in real photographic documentation of the unit, which adds authenticity and historical significance. With only 900 numbered copies released, this stamp is quickly becoming a meaningful artifact of the ongoing Russian-Ukrainian war.

The event brought together philatelists and collectors of military memorabilia from all over Ukraine. Participants were able to receive a special brigade postmark, collect signatures from commanders, and engage directly with military personnel.
One of the most powerful moments was hearing firsthand accounts from Ukrainian artillery soldiers. Lieutenant Colonel Oleksandr Dotsenko, commander of the “Pion” division, spoke about his combat experience — from defending Kyiv to the battles of Debaltseve and the liberation of the Kharkiv region.

As noted by Nataliia Mukhina, Head of Philatelic Production at Ukrposhta, the release of such stamps is a unique privilege, and there is already a queue of military brigades waiting months ahead to create their own commemorative issues.
For Junior Diplomatic Academy students, the event was more than a lesson in philately — it was a chance to hear real stories of war from those who experience it firsthand.
Encounters like this deepen understanding of Ukraine’s contemporary history and highlight how every symbol, every stamp, and every story contributes to the ongoing fight for freedom led by Ukrainian defenders.
We extend our gratitude to the National Museum of Military History of Ukraine for the invitation!
