Participants of the Junior Diplomatic Academy had the chance to engage with Major Jason Lieuallen, a representative of the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine specializing in bilateral cooperation.
Held in English, the conversation offered a real-life example of diplomacy in action—not just between countries, but between people.

The guest shared highlights of his professional path—from military service to diplomacy—and offered insights into international cooperation during wartime. Yet the heart of the discussion centered on human connection between Ukrainians and Americans.
Major Lieuallen noted that what impressed him most was the resilience of the Ukrainian people and their ability to remain humane even in the toughest moments. One phrase he picked up—“don’t rush the horses”—stayed with him as a powerful reminder to keep balance and patience.

The discussion focused on the importance of communication, the role of language in international relations, and how knowledge and experience only gain true value when shared.
Rita Kosyak, Head of the Project Office at the Kyiv Palace of Children and Youth, reflected:
“For participants of the Junior Diplomatic Academy, this was more than just a lecture—it was a real dialogue that shapes not only professional perspectives but also a sense of connection between nations. We are especially grateful to the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine team for making such meetings possible. It is through these sincere conversations that trust is built. And trust is the foundation of genuine diplomacy—one that unites countries more powerfully than any agreement.”
